What can you expect here?
You can, as the Jesuits say, find God in all things. That is, if you look for God’s presence and learn to think theologically.1
If you are wondering about the reality of a loving God, or the relevance of the Bible to your daily life, then you’ve come to the right place.
You’ll find posts and past sermons on everything from the Statute of Liberty to Lessons Learned about Grief to why there are fireworks on the 4th of July.
Most of what you’ll read here boils down to this: I believe that the Christian faith is meant to be simple: love God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Sadly, over the centuries (actually, from very beginning!) we Christians made it complicated.
But it doesn’t have to be that way: you can (re)discover the liberating, joy-filled, meaning-full life that God intended for you. Together, let’s explore how.
Unapologetic Theology is the title of one of the many books written by my mentor, William C. Placher of Wabash College — it’s his honor I named this Substack.
